Shadow update and Missing Cat

We had a great response from our ad for a shadow for Callum. Lots of people with experience in special needs. The bad news is that our request for funding got turned down, I know I can fight it but we're talking about a period of 2 1/2 months before everything changes again and he transfers to the school district. It's so frustrating not knowing what kind of a place they will offer Callum, how many hours, will it only be 2 or 3 days a week, will they provide transportation, will we think it's the right setting for Callum. Things are nice and settled at the moment and now it's all going to go topsy turvey again, maybe, probably, who knows.

Mark and I talked it over and decided that we'd ask my mum if she'd like to come for an extended visit and be Callum's shadow until we know what's going on with school. She of course jumped at the chance and Callum is going to be very excited to see his 'nanny again. The flight was booked within a couple of hours of us popping the question and she arrives tomorrow evening. When we told day care about both the funding being turned down and about my mum coming they said that Callum has been much better at following directions since he came back from the Christmas break, aaarrgggh does this mean that they now don't think he needs a shadow. I think they really thought that he would qualify for the funding and it would make THEIR lives easier, oh well. We've decided that it will probably be good for Callum to have the one on one time even if it's not for the entire day. We might try and introduce potty training and it'll probably give the teachers a better idea about what Callum can do.

Now for the bad news, Jarvis (our cat) has gone missing :( He's been gone since Wednesday 11th January when he managed to slip out the front door without us noticing. We've had a couple of possible sightings by a neighbour but nothing since last weekend. We've put up posters, online notices, visitied the local animal shelters and nothing. We're still hoping that he turns up but as the days go by it's becomming less likely. So if anyone just happens to be reading this and you live in Santa Monica and see a huge silver tabby then please let me know...

Wow, sorry to hear the daycare seemed to rescind their initial claim after you already arranged mum to come. Although, I am certain Callum & Kiernan will be simply thrilled to have grandma around. It will probably be just as wonderful for you and dad.

I am not even at the preschool age yet, and I am already worried about Elainah's attention span, high activity level, and what preschool hours will be like. I have made a firm decision that she will not attend in our district, none of my children do. It is just too small, lacks proper funding.

Have the kids noticed the cat is gone? Its pretty obvious mom is missing the cat a great deal. Hope you find it.
